Welcome to the factory.
I first felt like I was running an art factory when I was doing printmaking in my beautiful little apartment in Hamilton some years ago now (working on the beginning stages of the Dis/Connect Series!). And after joking to myself that it was like a factory, I realized that I was echoing Warhol, and while his take on it made enough sense to me already at that point, it suddenly made all the more sense. Yup.
Anyway, I set up a bunch of gel image transfers last week under the sun, and now I have 6 new canvases started on, for the upcoming TOAE show. And last night when I should have been sleeping I instead got a brainwave about what I’d like to do with some of them, and I stayed up, spinning in a fever of ideas, scribbling urgently into my sketchbook. I think these are about to get more interesting. More soon.
