Just a reminder that the Queen West Art Crawl is THIS WEEKEND, September 12 and 13, from 11am – 6pm both days, and YOU’RE INVITED!
The show is free and runs rain or shine. I’ll be grinning away in booth L30. Come see me!!! xo
First of all, THIS:
It’s ONE WEEK until the Queen West Art Crawl, my favourite annual Toronto outdoor art festival. Heck yes! I will be smiling away in booth L30. Come say hi!!!! This is also the first year I’ve decided to try something different from the Billions Pass Through this Landscape series at this show. Allow me to introduce you to my whimsical, dream-like watercolours of personal-encouragement!
Also, I realize that this is my first post on here in 10 months. Woah. Interestingly, that’s around the time I started using Instagram for my artwork. It seems I only have the capacity to keep on top of one form of social media at a time. Anyway, I pretty much forgot I had an art blog, but I’ll try to start using it more again. I’m not going to pretend that I plan on starting to blog all the time, but ya know, once or twice a month would be nice. We’ll see.
See you soon at QWAC!!
It’s once again been a long time since I posted on here. Ugh, can you tell I’m not fond of blogging? Anyone else want to do this for me?! Seriously. Blarg.
Anyway, I’m much more excited about participating in this fun art show than I am about writing a stupid blog about it. But I guess I gotta tell you SOMEHOW, so here ya go: I’m in a really groovy group show at Graven Feather for the rest of this month. Every piece is created on a 5″ disc of wood. The show looks really cool and you should totally check it out.
In The Round: group show
EXHIBITION November 6 -29th 2014
Graven Feather: 906 Queen Street West, Toronto
Gallery hours: Thursday – Saturday, 12 – 7
Pretty much all the pieces are for sale (at least mine are, but only two are still available, so ACT NOW if you want them… am I convincing you yet?) and every piece is set at only $45. Support a lovely local gallery and a whole lot of creative local artists and maybe head down this month for some holiday gift shopping -whaddya say?
Happy November! xo
I’ve been watercolouring my original drawings from this series (and there are new drawings, too!), and now I’m making small prints of them on pretty wood panels for the show this weekend. C’mon down!
The Queen West Art Crawl is in Trinity Bellwoods Park (Queen Street West) in Toronto, this Saturday September 13 and Sunday September 14, from 11am to 6pm both days. I’ll be in booth N29 (near the tennis courts) hoping to see you.
…And the weather forecast just got more promising for this weekend! WOO HOO! Come support local artists in a super cool part of town and hang out in a park with me and lots of other cool cats.
Heya! Just wanted to let y’all know that I’ve got a couple pieces up in a new gallery just off Queen West called Art Yard. It looks like this inside:
But it sure doesn’t look that way on the outside – there’s some crazy construction going on in the area, which has unfortunately been extended so that now it’s still rough looking while this show is happening, but it’s okay! It’s lovely inside! If you’re driving or walking through a desolate construction zone, YOU ARE IN THE RIGHT PLACE AND SOON YOU WILL BE SURROUNDED BY ART AND WILL GET THE CHANCE TO MEET A LOVELY LADY NAMED NATASZA WHO IS DOING GREAT THINGS INSIDE THIS SPACE!
So c’mon down and hang out with me for the opening reception! It’s on Thursday, May 15 from 7pm – 10pm at 30 Abell Street in Toronto. If you think you wanna come, RSVP here.
Right to the point: check out my art in an uber cool Toronto loft here.
So pictured above, hanging out with their new furry orange friend Molly, are three of my peeps with a couple of Kate Domina‘s girls. Remember The Thinkers? Well this is their home, in the chic, funky loft apartment of Shelly and Tim, just featured in Apartment Therapy.
Having trouble finding images of my work on the A.T. page? Click “open slideshow” under the top image, or any of the images, and click through.
Also nice to see that the creations of mine and Kate’s are still buds – Kate and I did a show together downtown last winter. Her art is pretty sweet – if you haven’t checked it out, I suggest you get to it!
Yo yo yo!
Tomorrow is day-one of art in Trinity Bellwoods Park with yours truly. I’ve got lots of new small pieces for your affordable purchasing pleasure *cough* to make it easier for you to take home a lil’ slice of my art, should you happen to want it in your home. Come see!
Once again this year, my bro Trev is gonna be at the show with me, dazzling folks with his killer nature/travel photography. Think National Geographic. His latest website’s not finished yet, but you can still see lots of sweet pictures here.
So! I’ll be in booth N10, and Trev will be in booth L19.
Trinity Bellwoods Park (on Queen West between Bathrust and Ossington).
This Saturday and Sunday (Sept 21 – 22), 11am – 6pm both days.
Show goes on rain or shine.

Howdy! So tomorrow’s the big night, and I’m pretty stoked. Hung up the show today and gotta go back to straighten it out, as I ran out of time this afternoon. HOWEVER. I kinda like how it looks all cock-eyed as such. Perhaps I’ll leave it..??? Perhaps I’ll go back tomorrow to mess it up some more! Crookedify EVERYTHING! Hang chairs from the chandeliers! Turn all the tables upside down staple my business cards to the ceiling. (The Gladstone won’t be able to wait to have me back again.)
So, at present, this is what one wall looks like:
If you wanna see what I do with it – leave it, straighten it, muss it up more – you’ll just have to come by to find out! The party starts tomorrow (Friday) at 7pm on the SECOND FLOOR of The Gladstone (at Queen and Dufferin).
ALSO. The Gladstone put a sweet lil’ promo up for me on their site, BUT they screwed up the date on it, so don’t let it confuse you: the opening reception IS TOMORROW, which is the SIXTEENTH, and yes, that is a FRIDAY. Tomorrow. 7pm. We party.
ANOTHER ALSO. Further exciting news: I finally built a new website that I know how to update, so now, me arts can be kept current! WOAH! Check it out!!! 😀
HOPE TO SEE YOU TOMORROW!!!!!!
Did you know I have a solo exhibition coming up at The Gladstone? It’s almost here: I’ll be setting things up Thursday morning and then this Friday is the opening reception.
OPENING RECEPTION: FRIDAY, AUGUST 16, 7PM – 10PM, SECOND FLOOR OF THE GLADSTONE HOTEL.
The show runs from August 16 – September 2nd on the second floor. Regular viewing hours are 12pm – 5pm.
Let’s high five and drink wine in a hotel! Come on down! Hope to see you Friday night. 🙂
